Russian River Cruises

There is any number of ways to explore Russia.  You can fly, go by bus or standard train or to expand the latter you could take a trip on the trans-Siberian railway.  However why not consider river cruising.  This is a great way to travel and enables you to view the many interesting features of this magnificent Country whilst simultaneously relaxing on board.

It is possible to take river cruises in Russia departing at various cities and stopping at sites of cultural or historical interest.  The highlight of any river cruise trip is obviously Moscow and this is thanks to its rich history, plethora of attractions and amazing architecture. Whilst in Moscow make sure you at least visit Red Square, the Kremlin and Lenin’s mausoleum before re-joining the cruise.

Uglich is another top spot on any river cruise between Moscow and St Petersburg.  Uglich was where the son of Ivan the Terrible was said to have died a tragic death.

Another potential river cruise stop is Yaroslavl with many cultural and religious attractions to observe but it is St Petersburg that will inspire just as much as Moscow.  It may be a younger city than the Capital but is well worth a visit to its amazing buildings and the attractions of places like the Hermitage Museum and the Kirov ballet.
