When bargains knock

Bargains rarely knock, actually. There is usually effort implied in finding good bargains. Especially online, where for each decent bargain website there are three scammers that you need to learn how to sense from a distance.

And the act of learning how to tell when something is a bargain or just plain fishy is something that you’ll catch on pretty quickly. I tend to tell my mother not to trust anything that’s from an unreliable source, or when the supposedly reliable source turns out to be a redirect to some other, completely different website.

But bargains are out there in this World Wide Web, and people are finding them every day. There’s always someone getting a major discount on an electrical appliance, finding cheap luxury hotels, getting a sweet deal on a rental car company or being given a really big coupon for purchasing something that they actually needed.

Whether you’re doing your early Christmas shopping or just browsing for potential discount wares that you may possibly be interested in, it’s important to keep an eye out for the occasional super bargain. And if you do find it, share it with the world! Tell your friends and neighbors, and don’t forget to post about it on your social networking website too.

Getting to the Airport

Getting to and from the airport is often the most stressful part of any journey. Whether you’re worried about time, or possible delays, you always want to prepare for the worst. If you’re looking for the best way to get to the airport, consider these popular options.

Many popular tourist destination cities have extensive public transportation systems. They often have a bus route, or metro stop, dedicated entirely to airport travelers. Some cities have their airport outside the city center, which means it might make for an extended trip to rely on public transportation.

Another option is a cab. Although the price may be expensive, you’re more likely to get there on time, without worrying about a schedule. Luggage is also easier to manage when you have a private car. This also goes for car hire. Many airports offer car hire agencies right near the terminal, which makes it easily accessible to travelers.

In case something does come up, there are always accommodation options, such as Heathrow Airport hotels that are nearby. This is the perfect option for those who have arrived early, or will be waiting during a layover. Delays and cancelations can also lead to last minute hotel booking, which is fine with airport hotels.

Nightlife on Ibiza

Ibiza holidays are enjoyed every year by family-oriented tourism. It is well known for the large amount of tourists that flock to this island for the summer club parties and the warm weather of this island climate. Noted clubs like Space, DC10 and Pacha are all there to entertain the visitors and many return year after year. The Balearic island chain actually includes over fifty islands with many of then being uninhabited. If nightlife is what you are looking for, then this is the place you want to experience. Here you can find a cosmopolitan mix of fresh faces, freaks, mature party goers as well as local residents. Celebrities too have been know to show up at the nightspots in Ibiza.

If you are new to Ibiza then you should know how the club scene works. After your day on the beach and trying the amazing beach bars, you have had dinner and now are headed into town for some dancing and drinks. Ibiza has eight major clubs and each is promoted by outside promoters and the club. These promoters come from all around the world as they tailor the environment to suit the party scene. This tells you that each night the clubs will offer different types of music. But you don’t need to leave your hotel to find good music as resorts around the island offer a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the more intense scene in town. You will find cheaper drinks and no entry fee at the bars in the resorts and they offer great DJs as well.

If you want to listen to the music and watch the sunset at the same time, then you want to go to the sunset strip. Here you will find the sunset cafes in San Antonio. This is where you will find a romantic setting to watch the day end and later dance to your favorite DJ. If you have chosen an all inclusive Ibiza trip then maybe on your next visit to these islands you will try the all inclusive Majorca and experience another island and what it has to offer. Whether you are paying as you go or you booked the all inclusive package, there is no wrong way to experience the nightlife on any of the Balearic Island. They all have their own style and personality so each island will not be like the last. Check the food reviews of different island before you make you choice as they are not all the same.

An affordable, temporary solution for your transportation needs. Get something bigger, newer, and more comfortable to replace your town car on your next trip.

Backpacking Tips

Packing for backpacking can be a tricky task dependant on a variety of variables. Where are you going? What is the climate like? How long are you going for? Three factors which will shape the way your backpack is stuffed.

What follows are a few pointers to help you make sure you pack the right amount of the right stuff.

  • The right gear – However long you may be travelling for, good, durable, quality clothing is a must. Even for shorter trips, you will be getting a lot of wear out of your clothes as you make a host of journeys. It is worth paying that little bit more for comfort and longevity. Common sense prevails in the fact dark coloured thick shirts will show less dirt and last longer, respectively.

In terms of trousers, try and opt for some with rip-away knees which turn into shorts.

Again, no matter how long your trip is, footwear is an important item of clothing to get right. There is a great range of footwear on offer from a number of high-end brands. Regatta shoes and Keen sandals are popular choices and are suitable for all climates and destinations

  • Where possible, try and find lighter equivalents of heavier gear. Swap metal for plastic, and ensure your wet clothes are fully dry before travelling. If you must pack heavy gear, ensure the items are packed on top and closest to the top of your back, just below your neck. Adjust the backpack where you need to so most of the weight is carried on your hips as opposed to your shoulders. Try and develop a system for packing things in the same or similar place every-time too, so you become accustomed to where to lay your hands on items quickly.

  • If camping, place your sleeping bags and even your tent in position for direct sunlight. Hanging them up also will air them out quicker and prevent the dreaded damp-camp smell.

Essentials which need no explanation include a torch, lighter, plastic bags, and duct tape!

Happy Backpacking!!

The Cheap Guide to Europe: Greek Edition

When looking for budget holidays, the tourist filled beaches and islands of Greece won’t necessarily strike you as one of the cheapest options. However, there are many options to spend cheap Greek holidays in style, and we’ll try to help you find them.

There are two main principles when it comes to looking for cheap holidays in Greece: timing and patience.

Timing because booking early will get you discount prices, and because booking smart will get you huge price reductions. By booking smart we mean choosing the time of your holidays carefully. In most European countries, and in the whole World, you’ll only really find good weather around August. In Greece, however, good weather is practically found all year around, with the “beach season” being somewhere between May and an unbelievable November. So booking your trip to those low season months will save you a lot of money.

Another principle, like we said, is patience. To find the best deals you’ll need to shop around a lot, going to several travel agencies – and possible doing a lot of hassling and haggling too, especially if they’re Greek – and looking around online every chance you get. But when fou find that amazing deal, it’ll all be worth it.

Ayia Napa: rags to riches

From its humble beginnings as a fishing village in the south east corner of the stunningly beautiful island of Cyprus, Ayia Napa has cemented its position as one of Europe’s best holiday resorts.

Those of you worried about safety and the overall cleanliness of the water will be happy to know that all beaches in Ayia Napa have been awarded the European Blue Flag, as they have passed all quality control in terms of purity of the water, safety and quality of the facilities around the beach.

If your objective is to go and spend cheap holidays to Ayia Napa, you’re in luck. As a resort in a country that’s already cheaper than the European average, Ayia Napa focuses on family entertainment and on young tourism. And of course, families and young people can’t be spending too much money on their holidays.

It may seem an unusual combination, as usually families spend their holidays in different places than young party goers. But Ayia Napa caters to the best of both worlds, with fun-filled and active daytime activities, focusing mainly on beach related activities like beach sports and the obvious sun tanning, and water sports like jet skiing, scuba diving, speed boating, among others.

The Finer Things

Anyone can find a hotel, and everyone knows how to book a hostel. But if you’re looking for luxury hotels, you will want to know how to find the best of the best. Knowing what to compare, and where to look, will ensure you find the hotels with the most pampering environment possible.

When comparing luxury hotels, make sure you know exactly what you want. Knowing which facilities you expect is a quick way to rule out the unworthy. Many hotels boast a large selection of facilities, but it doesn’t mean they’ll all have exactly what you’re looking for. For example, if you’re looking for the use of both an indoor and outdoor pool, make sure they specify the location of the pool in the description. Spas, gyms, and other facilities will also be listed, but as for what they offer, you should be sure it includes what you’re looking for. Although they have a gym, doesn’t mean it will be full equipped like you may be expecting.

As for the location of the hotel, there are a few things you should watch out for. Sea side does not mean direct access to the beach. If you are looking for a hotel with a beach, make sure they specify their location as being “beach front”. Although some hotels have a view of the ocean, this could mean located on the top of a cliff.

Winter Cruises

Being cold and with snow around you isn’t most people’s idea of a cruise, but it can be as fun as a summer cruise in the Caribbean. The one I went to was in Alaska, but I’ve heard great things about cruises in the Northern Sea – Denmark, Sweden, Norway, etc. and cruises around Russia’s northern coastal line.

Modern cruise ships have all the commodities you can expect, and you’ll never be so cold as not to enjoy your holiday. Honestly, the greatest problem in packing, since you need something warm as well as your bathing suit, because you’ll want to spend time in the ship’s pool and spa.

The fact that so many people would turn their noses at the prospect of going on a winter cruise makes the travel agencies and the cruise agencies go that extra mile in preparing activities for your holidays – and it’ll also affect the price range of these cruises. The one I went to included activities that went from relaxed high seas fishing or ice-skating, to more uncommon sports like shooting and para-sailing. There was even a hunting package at a very moderate price, unfortunately, I was a little too tired to go on a hunting trip.
